The National Institute for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine was established in 1958, on the base of the Experimental Station from Moldova with the same profile, with the purpose of scientific insurance of the animal husbandry sector from the republic.

The scientific and logistic potential

Within the Institute, there are about 200 persons - 35 scientific researchers, including a correspondent member of the Academy of Science of Moldova , 4 PhDs and 13 doctors of agriculture, biology and veterinary medicine. The researches are carried out in 5 laboratories, the bank of republican genofound, the Elever for reproductive bulls breeding.

The experimental sector of the Institute has 1449 ha of agricultural field, animal farms with taurines and sheep.

Annually, seeding material from special-bred bulls are collected and frozen for milk and meet more than 300,0-500,0 thousands doses using the most spangle modern technology.
