The Institute was established on 16 February. In 1953 the Moldovan branch of the USSR and SA (Scientific Academy) as the operating section 5: Soil Science, Agrochemistry, soil biology, soil improvement and resort to combat soil erosion. Initiative foundation institute belongs to our countryman, academician Nicolae Dimo, pedologist-renowned scientist, outstanding personality in the natural sciences. The event completes the foundation of the institution destined solve coordination and research in soil science, which contributes to the development and solving of problems of national economy.
